DESCRIPTION
Depending on the customer’s needs, the machine may be supplied in two versions:
– Multipack without handler
– Multipack with handler
The electronic Multipack machine is the next generation of Twin Pack solutions, which has improved and enhanced the previous Multipack with double adhesive tape.
The automatic machine is designed to produce clusters of bottles or other containers using adhesive tape as opposed to heat-shrink film.
This full eco-friendly packaging solution meets the increasing needs for environmental safeguard.
In this new generation system the use of a single reel, rather than two, ensures a 15% output rate increasing and allows to work on one side dropping maintenance and employee cost.
The robotized automatic arm with brushless technology is the most innovative part of this machine. It guarantees a better fixing of the tape and a greater adhesion effectiveness, reducing the risks of product damage.
Depending on the product to be clustered, we are able to offer customized solutions using different tape (PE, OPP, paper…), rolled material and glues that fit the purpose. The packaging is finalized with “easy open” system and pays close attention to the product main features and packaging and brand image.
The main functions are made by electronically operated input which increases the accuracy and flexibility in the changeover and let increase also the performances.
The setting changeover might be totally or partially authomatic thanks to the “quick change” brushless technology.
Clustering station
The grouping of the product (bricks, bottles, flow pack etc) occurs with a feed system that automatically defines the groupage for the cluster. The feed system consists of two lateral slat conveyors that separate the number of containers needed to form the cluster. The thus-sorted cluster is then conveyed to the taping station.
The adhesive tape carefully sized to realize the multipack, is picked up and retained by two axis motion of the robot, provided with a special gripper that guides the tape around the cluster following the setting configured on the touch screen.
Two lateral clustering station will assure the tape sealing just creating one overlapping on the cluster backside (Twin Pack parented system).
Tape tension during unwinding is monitored by a pneumatically controlled dancer roll.
The tape is unwound by a motor-driven roller and its cut is made through a photocell that allows the centering of the printed label.
Handle application station
An handler may be integrated to the Multipack system.
Although the two stations are working in chain and synch they shall continue to be used independently opting for multipack with or without handle.
Depending on the system throughput the handle may be in horizontal or vertical position.
TECHNICAL FEATURES
Handle characteristics are:
– height: 25 mm.
– Thickness: 50 microns
– type: mono-oriented polypropylene
– colour: transparent
